What you are getting

We built this unit for rooms without built-in storage. The steel frame holds clothes on hanging rods and wire tiers, while the zippered fabric cover pulls down over the whole assembly to keep light and grit away from the fabrics inside. It wheels across the floor and stops when you step on the caster brakes.

  • Stands 81" tall and takes up 45" of wall, 17.5" deep. Measure the gap before you order.
  • 2 hanging rods, so short and long garments each get their own line.
  • 2 shelves for folded stacks, boxes and the shoes that never fit anywhere else.
  • Zipped dust cover over the whole frame, so nothing collects gray.
  • Rolls on locking casters. Brake them and it stays where you left it.

Why it is built this way

Full fabric enclosure

The fabric jacket wraps around the entire steel frame and fastens with zips down the front. You can roll the front panel up and tie it off while sorting through coats, then drop it down to close the unit against dust.

Removable hanging rods

We set steel rods into the frame for hangers, with open wire decking above and below for folded laundry and storage bins. If you need room for full length coats, take out the lower rod and shift the wire shelf down.

Locking wheel base

The casters thread directly into the base posts so you can guide the loaded rack across a flat floor. Step down on the foot brakes to hold the unit in place beside a wall, or swap the wheels for stationary leveling feet.

Grooved post assembly

The wire shelves and hanging supports lock around plastic sleeves snapped into grooves along each vertical post. The parts seat together by hand without bolts, giving you solid joints that keep the rack upright when fully loaded.

It needs 45" of wall and 17.5" of floor coming out from it, and it stands 81" tall. Chalk those three numbers on the floor before you order, and leave a hand-width to get behind it.

How long does it take to put together?

Most of our frames go together with the pins and connectors in the box, on the floor, in well under an hour. No drill and no wall fixing; the casters push into the feet last.

Can I take the cover off later?

Yes. The cover unzips from the front and lifts clear of the frame, so the same rack works open in a bedroom and closed in a garage.
