What you are getting

We built this portable closet from thick steel tube with a black powder finish. The top and bottom shelves brace the uprights, and the rods adjust outward when your seasonal pile grows. Roll it across a wood floor or set it on the leveling feet instead.

  • Stands 80.6" tall and takes up 35.2" of wall, 16.1" deep. Measure the gap before you order.
  • Rolls on locking casters. Brake them and it stays where you left it.
  • The rail extends, so one frame covers two different gaps.

Assembly: pins and connectors in the box, floor assembly, no drill. Casters push into the feet last.

Why it is built this way

Telescoping steel frame

The main hanging section widens when you need room for more coats. Thick upright tubes slide and lock without binding, while cross braces across the back keep the tall structure aligned under heavy loads.

Upper and lower shelves

We placed wire shelves at the top and base. The bottom tier stiffens the entire frame above the wheels, leaving room for storage bins, shoe crates, and folded blankets below your hanging shirts.

Casters or leveling feet

Threaded stems let you pick your base. Roll the frame on rubber casters with foot brakes, or screw in the stationary levelers to seat the uprights directly on uneven flooring.

Black powder finish

The steel receives a clean black coating that resists moisture and scuffs from metal hangers. It wipes down with a dry rag and stays clean in a rented bedroom or laundry corner.

It needs 35.2" of wall and 16.1" of floor coming out from it, and it stands 80.6" tall. Chalk those three numbers on the floor before you order, and leave a hand-width to get behind it.

How long does it take to put together?

Most of our frames go together with the pins and connectors in the box, on the floor, in well under an hour. No drill and no wall fixing; the casters push into the feet last.
