We built this freestanding closet around a thick black steel frame that handles hanging coats alongside folded garments. The posts hold adjustable wire tiers and fabric storage bins, giving you dedicated hanging height for full-length hems and flat shelf space on a single footprint. Threaded feet level the base on uneven floors.

Stands 71" tall and takes up 35.2" of wall, 15.7" deep. Measure the gap before you order.
4 shelves for folded stacks, boxes and the shoes that never fit anywhere else.

Why it is built this way

Steel tube and black coat

Thick metal uprights take the load of dense winter coats and full storage bins without bowing. The smooth black powder coating covers the steel to handle day to day closet use, resisting scuffs and wiping clean with a dry cloth.

Fabric drawers with stiff backs

The pullout bins use non-woven fabric wrapped around rigid support panels to keep the drawer bottoms flat under the weight of heavy knitwear. They slide in smoothly across the metal wire shelf beneath them and fold flat if you reconfigure the bay.

Grooved posts and modular tiers

Snap sleeves lock onto the grooved steel uprights so you can shift the height of the hanging rod and storage tiers. Drop a shelf lower for long trench coats, or stack the fabric drawers at the base to keep folded knitwear off the floor.

Tool free sleeve assembly

The steel components slide and press together without bolts or hand tools. Each tier clamps into place over split plastic sleeves that seat firmly into the post grooves as weight settles down onto the shelf corners.
