About this portable closet
We build this frame from steel tubing finished in smooth black powder coat. Grooved uprights let you snap shelf tiers and hanging rods into place without bolts, so you can run the whole unit along a flat wall, wrap it into a corner, or split it across the room.
Modular frame layout
Build the steel uprights into a wide straight wall unit, turn them around an inside corner, or divide the pieces into standalone racks. The modular sections share the same footings and wire shelves across each layout.
Slip sleeve clips
Tapered plastic sleeves snap into the grooved upright posts at the heights you choose. Lowering a wire shelf collar over the clips wedges the tier firmly in place, stiffening the frame under the weight of folded clothing.
Hanging rods and wire tiers
Steel hanging rods bridge the upper frame to hold coats, shirts, and trousers clear of the floor. Stacked wire shelves underneath support storage bins, folded knitwear, or shoes while letting room air circulate freely through the metal grid.
Threaded leveling feet
Each base post ends in a wide leveling foot with a threaded stem. Turning the foot counterclockwise takes up the slack on uneven floors, keeping the entire black steel structure upright and steady without marring bedroom floorboards.
