About this clothes rack
We build this frame from steel tubing finished in a black powder coat for daily use in open rooms and damp laundry spaces. The upper rod pulls out sideways when you need extra hanging run, while the lower rod adjusts to clear folded hems. Casters roll across hard floors and lock at the brake.
Telescoping hanging rods
The top rod extends outward to handle longer garments, and the mid rod adjusts in height to keep shorter shirts clear of the floor. Both rods seat into the uprights without extra hardware.
Rigid base shelf
The lower shelf spans the base uprights, squaring the frame and keeping shoe crates or folded denim off bare floors. Locking the lower span down keeps the vertical tubes true under heavy loads.
Swiveling brake casters
The casters thread directly into the base tube. Step down on the foot levers to hold the rack steady while sorting through winter coats or rolling a fresh load across the hallway.
Snap button assembly
The main uprights lock together using spring buttons that click into matching holes. You can set the frame upright without wrenching on bolts or looking for shop tools.
