What you are getting

We build this freestanding closet from thick-walled steel tube with a black powder coat. The frame combines hanging rods for long coats and daily shirts with steel shelves for folded denim, bins, or boots. Casters roll the whole assembly across the room when you want to clean behind it.

  • Rated to 780 lbs spread across the frame, which is a winter wardrobe of coats and heavy knits.
  • Stands 79.1" tall and takes up 45.1" of wall, 16.7" deep. Measure the gap before you order.
  • 3 hanging rods, so short and long garments each get their own line.
  • 6 shelves for folded stacks, boxes and the shoes that never fit anywhere else.
  • Rolls on locking casters. Brake them and it stays where you left it.

Assembly: pins and connectors in the box, floor assembly, no drill. Casters push into the feet last.

Why it is built this way

Steel frame and finish

Thick steel tubing takes the pull of heavy winter coats and stacked bins. We coat the metal in smooth black powder that handles damp laundry rooms and everyday scrape without peeling.

Hanging rods and wire shelves

Rods hang your daily shirts while wire tiers hold folded sweaters and storage bins. You can leave a rod off if you need tall clearance for long dresses or winter coats.

Rolling casters and brakes

Casters thread directly into the upright posts so you can push the full frame across flat flooring. Foot brakes step down to hold the rack steady once it sits where you want it.

Tool free slip sleeve assembly

Tapered sleeves snap around the grooved posts to seat each shelf and crossbar. You position the tiers by hand, press them down over the clips, and set your own spacing without bolts.

Three things people ask first

How much can it actually hold?

The frame is rated to 780 lbs with the weight spread along the rail. That is a tested figure for the whole frame, not a guess, and it assumes the load sits across the span rather than hanging off one end.

Will it fit where I want to put it?

It needs 45.1" of wall and 16.7" of floor coming out from it, and it stands 79.1" tall. Chalk those three numbers on the floor before you order, and leave a hand-width to get behind it.

How long does it take to put together?

Most of our frames go together with the pins and connectors in the box, on the floor, in well under an hour. No drill and no wall fixing; the casters push into the feet last.
