About this covered rack
We built this frame from steel tubing and wire shelves, then wrapped the entire structure in a fitted fabric enclosure. The front unzips so you can reach your hanging coats and folded bins, then zips shut to keep dust and direct light off the cloth. It stands upright in a rental bedroom, a guest room, or a basement corner.
Fabric dust cover
The outer shell slips over the assembled steel frame and closes with a full front zipper. It covers hanging garments and stacked boxes, with sewn pockets along the outer side for folded accessories and lightweight items.
Steel tube frame
Thick steel posts form the vertical corners, coated in a black finish that resists everyday scuffs. The metal joints seat firmly together so the frame stays rigid when you hang heavy winter coats across the rods.
Rods and shelving
Hanging rods span between the upright posts alongside open metal shelves. You can hang long garments on the open rail while setting shoes, storage totes, and folded knitwear directly on the flat wire tiers below.
Tool free assembly
The posts and shelf collars slide together by hand without bolts or loose hardware. You build the steel framework upward from the base, slip the fabric cover over the top, and set the unit in place.
