What you are getting

Corners are hard to fill with straight rails, so we bent this frame into an L shape. The steel posts take heavy winter woolens and long coats without crowding the middle of the room. When you want to rearrange the floor, the whole unit rolls along on its rubber casters.

  • Rated to 500 lbs spread across the frame, which is everyday shirts, dresses and light jackets.
  • Stands 71" tall and takes up 82.7" of wall, 17.7" deep. Measure the gap before you order.
  • Rolls on locking casters. Brake them and it stays where you left it.
  • L-shaped, so it turns a corner instead of eating a wall.

Why it is built this way

Corner steel frame

We run the main hanging rails at an angle so the rack tucks flush into an unused bedroom corner. The triangular truss underneath ties the uprights together, holding the frame square under a full run of heavy hangers.

Telescoping hanging rods

The top rails slide out to lengthen the hanging run when you have more shirts to hang. You can pivot the arms to match your wall angle or fold the entire assembly flat against a wall when clearing floor space.

Locking rubber casters

Wide rubber wheels carry the steel base across bare floorboards, tile, and low rugs. Step on the wheel brakes to hold the rack steady while you sort through coats, then release them when you need to push it into the laundry.

Tool free assembly

The tubular posts and crossbars press into place with spring pins and friction joints instead of loose hardware. You can set the uprights, snap the lower shelf in place, and hang garments without digging for a wrench.

How much can it actually hold?

The frame is rated to 500 lbs with the weight spread along the rail. That is a tested figure for the whole frame, not a guess, and it assumes the load sits across the span rather than hanging off one end.

Will it fit where I want to put it?

It needs 82.7" of wall and 17.7" of floor coming out from it, and it stands 71" tall. Chalk those three numbers on the floor before you order, and leave a hand-width to get behind it.

How long does it take to put together?
