What you are getting

We build this garment rack from steel tube finished in plated chrome, braced along the base with arched crossbars. The upper rod extends outward and adjusts in height to clear long coats. When you need the floor back, the frame releases and folds flat.

  • Rated to 530 lbs spread across the frame, which is everyday shirts, dresses and light jackets.
  • Stands 70" tall and takes up 75" of wall, 21.6" deep. Measure the gap before you order.
  • Rolls on locking casters. Brake them and it stays where you left it.
  • Folds flat when the season ends.

Assembly: pins and connectors in the box, floor assembly, no drill. Casters push into the feet last.

Why it is built this way

Plated chrome frame

Polished chrome coats the steel tubing throughout the uprights and cross members. The metal resists damp laundry room air and daily hanger friction, while the curved lower supports stiffen the corners where the base meets the uprights.

Telescoping hanging rod

The top rail pulls out past the side uprights to take on extra garments. You can raise the working height for overcoats and full dresses, or lower it down to hang shirts in a low-ceiling room.

Swivel locking casters

Heavy wheels thread into the bottom corners for rolling across hard floors and area rugs. The foot levers drop down to lock the frame in place, holding the rack still while you load shirts onto the bar.

Fold flat teardown

Spring buttons secure the main tubes so you can assemble the entire rack without tools. The joints release cleanly, letting the uprights collapse down against the bottom wire shelf for flat storage in a car trunk or closet.

How much can it actually hold?

The frame is rated to 530 lbs with the weight spread along the rail. That is a tested figure for the whole frame, not a guess, and it assumes the load sits across the span rather than hanging off one end.

Will it fit where I want to put it?

It needs 75" of wall and 21.6" of floor coming out from it, and it stands 70" tall. Chalk those three numbers on the floor before you order, and leave a hand-width to get behind it.

How long does it take to put together?

Most of our frames go together with the pins and connectors in the box, on the floor, in well under an hour. No drill and no wall fixing; the casters push into the feet last.
